Review Fix Exclusive: Kaylee Keller Talks ‘Diamond’ And More!

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter Kaylee Keller, who chats about her new single “Diamond,” as well as her creative process and goals for the future.

Review Fix: What was the creative vision behind “Diamond”?

Kaylee Keller: I wrote Diamond from personal experiences. Those expierences made me feel isolated and made feel like I didn’t belong. Believing in yourself and not letting anyone stop you from your goals or take away your dreams is the message I want my listeners to grasp. Diamond derives from the Greek word (Adamas) – which means invincible and/or indestructible.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Keller: I usually get an idea by a life experience and then I will jot it down and pull out the guitar and write a little bit. Usually the chorus first. Sometimes the song comes together easily and then other times it’s pieced together with sticky notes. I will wake up in the middle of the night and write a line or two, sometimes my mom jumps in and writes a line or two. At the end of our pile of sticky notes, we usually have a song.

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard you?

Keller: I have been told my voice has its own unique sound with a dash of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Tori Kelly mixed in.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2016?

Keller: Like any artist I would love to have top hit songs, touring, etc. I also want to continue writing and working on new music for a complete album and film more music videos. But honestly, the way I roll is I will work hard and persevere in this career but I let God have the ultimate control and He will direct my 2016.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Keller: I want my songs to encourage, bring hope, big smiles, and make people want to dance!

Review Fix: Why should someone check out this album?

Keller: People should check out my music if they want to feel confident, hopeful, and loved.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Keller: Music, Music, Music, and more Music. Being only 18 years old I have so much yet to experience and learn. I’m looking forward to taking my career to the next level by working harder, serving others, laughing and having fun! Stay tuned at www.kayleekeller.com!
